Epic Brewing Brainless on Peaches

The other beer I opened Saturday night was Epic Brewing Company Brainless on Peaches, a tripel aged on peaches or brewed with peaches. Something with peaches at least. I'm actually not sure. Here's the website entry actually so yeah it was aged in oak on peaches and I've successfully argued with myself in the first paragraph.
Mostly smelled slightly peppery with a hint of the peaches. Taste basically followed with the spicy notes from the base tripel being the major point but with a bit more noticeable fruitiness. I will say that the base tripel didn't feel as dry as I like them but because of the fruit sweetness, I didn't actually mind it in this. I have a version aged on cherries which I look forward to trying. Curious if the tartness from the cherries will make it feel drier and come through a bit more than the peaches did. We'll see I guess.

  1. Had a bottle of this a few months ago. Not bad but it was a fizz bomb. Holy carbonation.

  2. Actually I'd agree that the carbonation was pretty high but I must have enjoyed it since it didn't bother me.

  3. Rich - This sounds like something I would like. Where do you go to keep yourself stocked with such a great variety of bottles? And out of curiousity, how do you keep track of what you've drank already?

  4. As far as keeping myself stocked, I buy stuff when I'm on vacation in random places. I believe I bought this at Stateline heading to DC though I don't totally remember. My wife would tell you I keep myself stocked up by buying entirely too much though.

As for keeping track of stuff, I have my cellar list on the side that I keep mostly up to date (though some stuff is missing). Otherwise, I somehow have a decent memory of everything I've had to drink and if I need to I just use the tags list on the right there to see. However, I don't operate on a strict one time only policy on writing about things and I've repeated a couple things here and there.
